Leh, September 17(Scoop News)-Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Gh. Nabi Azad praised the work culture in SNM Hospital Leh and he lauded the efforts of Doctors and paramedical staff for delivering excellent health service to the people of Ladakh.
The Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the MCH wing, CT scan, critical Mobile Van and oxygen Plant at SNM Hospital Leh.
Appreciating the dynamic approach by the J&K Urban Dev. Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora and CEC, LAHDC Spalbar in carrying out all welfare and developmental schemes effectively with strict supervision over the executing agencies to lead Leh as a model area Azad assured for more support in future for the development of the region.
Azad said that India has left behind many countries of the world in implementing new health schemes and programmes under ‘National Programme for Prevention and Treatment for Diabetes, Hypertension and cancer and initiated pilot projects in 100 Districts including Leh out of 650 Districts in India. The Minister said three major diseases that includes Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardio and strokes or cancers will rule the world in next 15 years if timely preventive measures are not taken and he mentioned with high prominence that India has already started working on these disease control. Responding to the demand of MRI machine at Leh SNM Hospital, Azad assured to take up the matter soon to sanction the machine for Leh.
Minister for Urban Development Nawang Rigzin Jora expressed gratitude to Azad for visiting Ladakh inspite of not being in the best of health and credited him for empowering Hill Council and other development like creation of more higher secondary schools, Tehsil and Blocks in Ladakh region.
Rigzin Spalbar CEC said that due to Azad support new era of development has started in Ladakh especially in health sector with many projects like Hospital campus worth 55 crore, ST Scan and oxygen plant worth 17 crore projects besides critical mobile Van said CEC. He also extended gratitude to the Union Minister for organizing exposure training programme to the local doctors at Indian premier health centre AIIMS and assured to impalement the fund in transparency manner in serving the people of the region by working day and night for the welfare for the people.
Earlier, Executive Councilor for Health Dr.Sonam Wangchuk in his welcome speech expressing gratitude to the Union Health Minister for his constant support and highlighted ongoing activities and projects
Executive Councilors, former MP P.Namgyal, MLC Norboo Gyaltsan, Sarpanches and Councilor, Doctors, paramedics staff were also present during the function.
Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
