Islamabad, Pakistan: The clouds have brought a wave of cold, snowy and rainy weather conditions to the northern parts of Pakistan and it has been snowy and rainy in Hunza, Astore, Skardu and Chitral.
Snowfall is welcomed in most parts of the world and the countries like Austria, Switzerland, famous for their Ski resorts and the tourism of the countries is mostly dependent on the snowfall that brings a betterment in their economy and tourists to their ski resorts.
Pakistan, having the greatest mountain ranges of the world like Himalayas, Karakoram and Hindukush and the potential for tourism-related activities, unfortunately, not much attention was paid to improve and attract the tourism to these areas, nor on the roads to make them accessible to the adventure-loving souls.
Therefore, Life seems paralyzed in these regions because of the snow, however, Karakoram Highway has been blocked at several points in the upper parts of Hunza and there is severe shortage of basic necessities in the areas.
Moreover, Chitral has been cut off from rest of the Pakistan for more than 3 weeks and life has become miserable in the area, there is neither road nor any air accessibility to Chitral these days and the locals are traveling through the Kunar province of Afghanistan and tribal areas of north western Pakistan, that are already in trouble because of the increasing insurgency in the region, traveling across these areas could be very risky.
