It is painful but  true that all the ideals which went into the making of Bangladesh stand frustrated today. freedom is the first casualty of the country carved out of erstwhile Pakistan and which formed part of Bengal in prepartition days.The socalled first family of Bangladesh , nee Sheikh Mujibur rehman , met with the gory end. The survivor Sheikh Hasina , is in jail. The manmade miseries are multiplied by nature’s cruelty. Cyclone is a receurring threat and the nation itself, or part of it, would be engulfed by the sea in the not too distant future. That is nothing compared to man’s inhumanity to man. The massacre of innocents started when Pakistan government refused to accept the electoral verdict and hand over party to Mujibur rehman’s party. 

Bar a short spell of peace, the murder of democracy in one form or another has continued to this day.our sympathies lie with Bangladeshis. And as a media man, my sympathies flow towards my peers across the border. It is time somebody takes the initiative and established the " journalists without borders"  org  to lessen the suffering of my brethren there. Groundreport is one such initiative. Let there be many more, to ensure life with dignity to these harassed media persons.
