(Scooped news) Dhaka, April 5, 2011: The Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Court Tuesday rejected the request of Mr. Muhammad Yunus’s leave to appeal on the High Court verdict and fully agreed with the removal of the Nobel Peace Laureate from Grameen Bank as Executive Director.
Seven members of the plenary session of the Appellate Division of the Corps, headed by the Chief Justice ABM Khairul Huq, said after hearing a petition filed by lawyers.
After stopping Dr. Yunus’s lawyer Kamal Hossain told reporters that the Court of Appeal for leave petition filed by Dr. Yunus Division prepared, but it was not yet making hearing on petition filed by nine other directors of the Grameen Bank. In his account of the petition before delivery Dr Kamal Hossain said that to deny the appeal of Mr. Yunus in the High Court against his removal from the Grameen Bank as CEO was "an error of law."
