State BJP, Panthers Party.
B.S.Slathia, President, Bar Association Jammu lambasted the State Govt. for keeping sinful silence on the issue of registration for which the Bar Association Jammu is spearheading an agitation for the last more than 26 days. Slathia made it clear that the powers of registration of documents shall not be allowed to be taken away from the Judicial Officers come what may. The Bar Association has taken up the cause to protect the interests of public at large and the participation and support of every organization and member of the public establishes the fact that public has decided to take this mass movement to its logical end.
All the representatives of these organizations appeal to the public at large for complete Bandh on that date to make the Govt. realise that it cannot sleep over the burning issue any further. They were unanimous in their view that the move of the Govt. in taking away the powers of registration from Judicial Officers shall only be helping the land-mafia and those powerful people who want to seek regularization of their illegal encroachments by vesting the registration powers with the Revenue/ Executive Officers.
Meanwhile NPP was held a meetingh today in connection with the Bandh Call given by the J&K Bar Associations in support of an urgent public demand to withdraw the proposal to shift registration of the documents from the Judicial Officers to the Revenue Officers. Besides, Prof. Bhim Singh, Harsh Dev Singh, Shri Balwant Singh Mankotia, Yashpaul Kundal, MLAs and Syed Rafiq Shah, MLC and other members of the Secretariat participated in the conference.
They made an appeal to all the sections of the society including traders, transporters, students, trade unions, chambers of commerce and all the political and social organizations to extend their whole-hearted, active and effective support the Bandh Call on 20th December, 2011 for the great cause of the general public so that the evil designs of the coalition government are exposed to the full.
Prof. Bhim Singh has also appealed to all these bodies fighting for public cause to take up the cause of the people particularly, the youth forcing the present corrupt and inefficient government to withdraw the SRO relating to half salary provision for the new recruits in the government services. He said that similar SRO was quashed by a High Court Bench headed by Chief Justice, Bahuddin Farooqui in 1981 on a petition filed by him (Bhim Singh) in the High Court.
Prof. Bhim Singh also expressed gratitude to the Kashmir High Court Bar Association for expressing their total solidarity and support to common cause against government proposal to shift registration from the judiciary to the executive. He hoped that both the bar associations may take up public cause jointly. He assured them full cooperation and solidarity of the Panthers Party from the streets to the Supreme Court in the interest of justice for all.
