Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services BASIS has announced the date for BASIS SoftExpo 2009 at a press conference on October 11th, 2008.
BASIS SoftExpo 2009, the biggest ICT event in the country, which will take place from 27 to 31st of January next year at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre, declared in the press conference held this morning at Surma Hall of Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon.
M A Mubin Khan, Director BASIS, read out a written speech at the conference [text of his speech attached to the mail]. He emphasized on the potentials of ICT in the development and boost of our export revenue.
Mr. Habibullah N Karim, President BASIS – in his speech, informed that the coming exposition would include new arrangements like an information centre and study corner for the visitors as he disseminated other information regarding the expo and later replied to different inquiries of journalists. Expecting more cooperation from the government level, he mentioned the software industry’s magnitude and volume would expand further if official support had increased. In reply to a question, he strongly rebuffed a complaint that general BASIS members were not getting the level of advantage equal to the high rankers in outsourcing. Issues of IT Park and other relevant topics were discussed at the conference.
TeleConsult Group (TCG) is providing BASIS with Management Consultancy for arrangement of BASIS SoftExpo 2009. Recently, both the organizations have made an agreement in this regard. Naila Chowdhury, Chairman & CEO, TCG, Rafiqul Islam Rowly, Chairman, National Event Committee, Shameem Ahsan, Vice-President, BASIS and Nahid Ahmad, Secretary General, BASIS, Naseem Ali Khan, Managing Partner, TeleConsult Group were also present at the occasion and took part the question-answer session.
