ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will observe the chehlum – marking the end of 40-day mourning period – of its chairwoman Benazir Bhutto on Thursday (today) across the country, with the main ceremony to be held at her ancestral village Garhi Khuda Buksh in Sindh. According to a PPP spokesman, the party has arranged various ceremonies to commemorate the death of its chairwoman.
The party has directed its office-bearers at provincial, divisional and district levels not to visit Naudero, rather hold chehlum ceremonies at their respective headquarters. Benazir’s son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would not attend her chehlum because he is busy with his studies in Britain, a Bilawal House spokesman said.
