Board of Cricket Control of India has accepted the invitation of Bangladesh Cricket Board for a short One Day International Triangular Series featuring India, Bangladesh and also Pakistan.
According to the proposed series the participating teams will play the other team on a round robin basis only once and there is no any semi-final match at all. The top two teams which score the highest points will play the final of the ODI Triangular series.
Indian team which has a heavy schedule from the March, 26 th onwards with a series against South Africa at home and subsequently the IPL twenty twenty matches from April, 23 rd onwards, has no other go but to agree for a short tour only.
BCCI has been diplomatic enough in accommodating Pakistan in the ODI Series, since it had earlier rejected Pakistan’s proposal of holding an India-Pakistan ODI Series in Pakistan, in order to fill up the gap created by the postponement of Australian team’s tour of Pakistan citing security reasons.
Let us hope that the short ODI series, featuring India, Bangladesh and Pakistan teams be a success and will provide enough entertainment to the respective countries, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
