We become Joint heirs with Christ the moment we accept him as saviour and redeemer.
MATTHEW 25: 34-40 "Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of My Father, inheirit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat: thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me: I was in prison and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty and gave the drink? When saw we thee a stranger and took the in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison and we came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In asmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my bretheren, ye have done it unto me."
Through these verses of scripture Jesus expands his "Sermon on The Mount" teaching that it is not enough just through words of love, for family, or friends, strangers, or enemies, words alone are cheap and sometimes even insincere, but words combined with actions can have real value, in the eyes of Almighty God, how we treat and help, without any expectations in return.
In other words if I see some lady being mugged on the street by some thug, do I look away, pretending I don’t see it, and it isn’t really happening. No! and when I step up to help her, is it with the thought of righting an injustice, or is it in hopes of some financial reward. Our motif must be pure in the eyes of God as well as our actions.
How many times, as we are walking down the street, or have driven down the street, have we passed these poor souls of God, begging for a few cents for something to eat? Do we reach into our pocket or purse and offer some change, or maybe if we are not busy, have we stopped to pick them up, and taken them for something to eat? If our answer is a resounding NO WAY! what does this say for our Christianity?
The Apostle Paul re-inforces our Heritage Thru Jesus, in his Epistle to the Galatians, when he tells them that God sent His Son to be born under the laws, to redeem us from sin so that we might receive adoption and sonship, and because we are now become Sons and Daughters to God, He sent the Holy Spirit into our hearts crying "Abba Father" so that we are no longer slaves of sin but sons and daughters, and if sons and daughters, then also heirs through God.

But this Heritage reward, is an earned priviledge, not just something dropped into our laps for good thoughts. Yes crass as it might sound God our Father and Jesus, expect something in return for their generosity, it is not merely a handout.
We MUST! MUST! prove ourselves worthy, through our selflessness, our love to others. Through these deeds, God’s Graces, are stored up for us in our heavenly spiritual bank accounts, to be received in abundance when we return home to Our Father in Heaven.
Our Redemption Freely Given:JOHN: 3: 15-16 JOHN: 11: 25-26
We must also remember that our deeds do not earn us our salvation, it is only through our total acception of Jesus Crucifixion and Resurrection and our repentance for our sins that we are saved from our sins.
