After the blasts Benazir Bhutto appeared for a press coference. She said those who attacked her were not Muslims. “No Muslim can attack a woman; no Muslim can attack innocent people” she added. Bhutto did not blame the Pak government for the blast but she said that the government should investigate. Bhutto enquired that “Why were the street lights along the entire stretch switched off?” Benazir stated that the innocent people who died had sacrificed for the cause of democracy. She said that she is having full faith in God and thanked the god for saving her life. Meanwhile Benazir Bhutto’s husband Ali Zardhari who is in Dubai blames the government for the blast. According to him the blasts occurred only because of the loop holes in the security what the government had provided for Benazir. He said Benazir had already handed over letters to the President Pervez which includes the names of three specific people whom she suspects to be the threat for her life, before she started her homecoming.
