Heritage Business School has always been a firm believer in broadening the student’s horizon and giving them wings to fly. To make the motto a reality, HBS has regularly organized interaction between students and visitors from the corporate world so that they benefit from the gathered experience. Recently, there have been many such interactions of which here are a few glimpses.
Industry Related Programs
Mr. Kushal Banerjee, who is the Academic Relationship Manager – (India – East) of Tata Consultancy Services visited Heritage Business School as a part of the Industry-Institute-Interface Program. He had an active Interaction with the students on 11th March 2016, a Friday and he spoke eloquently about “Needs in IT Industry”.
Before that, another Industry-Institute-Interface Program was conducted on 15th February 2016 with Prof. Rahul Sett, Assistant Professor, International University of Japan, Tokyo. His topic of discussion was ‘Consumerisation In The Present Context As Opposed To The Conventional Approach’. Prof. Sett is not only an able speaker but also a B.Tech degree holder and a Fellow (Ph.D) from IIM Ahmedabad. He has also been felicitated with the Nehru Fulbright Scholarship for Post Doctoral Research & was a Faculty of IIM Kozhikode.
Learning from Real Life
Mr. Srijan Banerjee, the Deputy Manager, HR, Skipper Limited, interacted with Heritage Business school students on 12th February 2016. In the interaction, he enlightened the students on the constantly changing face of HRD Professionals in India.
There were also delegates from Cardiff Business School, Mr. Roopen Roy, MD, Deloitte Haskins, Mr. Kaushik Banerjee, VP Citi Investment, Hong Kong, and others. The stories they shard were about the experience in the early and professional lives that can teach the students to succeed in life.
The UK Law Mission conducted a seminar inside the campus of Heritage Business School on 22nd January 2016. It comprised of 6 Law Faculty Members from the British Council and various UK Universities. The attendees of the seminar comprised of the faculty and the students of the institute. After the seminar got over, deliberations were conducted between the management and heads of the institutes who come under the wing of the Heritage Group.
The Industry Institute Interface did not end here and one notable presence was that of the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. Even though not a corporate venture, the opportunities and annual CTC cited by them was Rs 10 Lakh per Annum and perquisites applicable to the armed forces that are quite lucrative. The interaction and discussion excited the students who learned about many unknown facts and got inspired to join the armed forces.
An interaction with The Regional Manager of Life Insurance Corporation of India was organized on 29th January 2016. The audiences comprised of business students who gained suggestions on managing a huge entity like LIC which has under its wings thousands of in house employees, agents and other staff – either on its payrolls or under its supervision. This particular interaction was really informative and interesting for the students.
These corporate interactions is a way by which Heritage Business School wants to enhance the managerial skills of the students and make them diligent and enterprising managers of business propositions in the later stages of their lives.
