Jammu, March 07, (Scoop News)-Minister for Health and Medical Education and ARI and Trainings, Ch Lal Singh has underscored the need for providing hassle free treatment facilities to the patients, stressing upon the administrative officers to bring complete transparency, accountability in the working of each section of the health institutions for the convenience of the people.
The Minister was speaking while interacting with the Medicos and Para-Medicos after reviewing the infrastructural facilities being provided to the patients at Government Hospital Sarwal, SMGS Hospital Shalimar, Government Ayurvedic (ISM) Hospital and Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital, here today.
Director General Indian System of Medicines Dr. Kabir, Mission Director NRHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. B. D. Sharma, besides other senior officers of Health Department accompanied the Minister.
The Minister emphasized upon the concerned authorities that healthcare of the people is one of the top priorities of the Government and any negligence in this regard from the concerned functionaries would be viewed seriously. He stressed on the medicos and para-medicos to remain punctual to their duties and cautioned against any complaint in this regard. He said it should be ensured that patients do not have to wait in long queues for hours together for want of doctors or other staff during their treatment. He asked the hospital functionaries not to display any hoarding/posters within the hospital complex for advertisement of any private agencies.
Ch Lal Singh directed the concerned to ensure adequate arrangements of medicare facilities in the hospitals. He also instructed purchase of essential drugs well in time, stressing that no patient should face any inconvenience in the hospitals on this account.
The Minister received an appraisal report about the several programmes and policies initiated for up gradation of health care facilities in the State.
