Couple holding hands

Newlyweds often want to take some time off and run away from everything and everybody. A life full of wonderful moments and memories starts with their honeymoon and many people expect a lot from it. Most people imagine that their honeymoon will be a perfect journey – that they will go somewhere exotic, some place that they never got the chance to visit and have the time of their lives.

No more clichés

When you start planning your honeymoon, the first thing you should do is pick a destination. Yes, you can pick a quiet place where you and your partner can spend some intimate moments that you are going to remember for the rest of your life, or you can choose to have a fun, entertaining honeymoon in some of the world’s biggest cities. You will have plenty of time to lead a peaceful family life, so take advantage of your youth and your energy before you get too tired and too old. Who knows when another opportunity to travel will present itself – don’t make your honeymoon boring, pick a destination that will keep you active and excited!

Remember to take safety into consideration, and we are not only talking about crime rate here. When you are in a different city you do not have the best orientation, especially when you are driving. Statistically speaking, there are cities that are far safer in terms of traffic, and there are those known for reckless drivers. So, make sure that you pick a destination that is safer to drive in.

Spend your honeymoon in San Diego

In a city like this, there is something for everybody! This coastal city in California offers so much – you might not be able to handle it all. Spend your honeymoon in San Diego if you like swimming, snorkeling or surfing on some of the most beautiful beaches in US. Explore what the La Jolla beach community hides behind its coves, if you crave for adventures with your life companion.

Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are the two most visited and most popular beaches that will take your breath away – just like when the two of you first met! There, you can find an artificial inlet that holds the Seaworld theme park. Animal and nature lovers should definitely pay a visit to San Diego Zoo and enjoy watching and even feeding some animals. This enormous zoo is placed in Balboa urban parkland, where you will find many other things to do – like visit a museum.

Unlike any other metropolis, San Diego has a somewhat peaceful and calm atmosphere, but on the other hand, this city has very a lively and entertaining nightlife. You won’t get bored or search too long for a place where you can have a really good time.

When should you visit San Diego?

If you like warm and sunny weather, then you should avoid going to San Diego during May and June. Local people refer to these months as “May Grey” and “June Gloom”, but during the rest of the year, the weather is rather dry with a clear sky – perfect weather for all those who would like to go sightseeing, walking or shopping. This is also the season when you can find loads of cheap hotels that are not too shabby, to say the least.

Get married in Las Vegas, even though you are not intoxicated

What about a planned trip to Las Vegas with your significant other? Why not go there on your honeymoon? If you are not married, maybe you can be spontaneous and get married there! This is not the most romantic idea, but I guarantee you that you will party hard and remind yourself that the two of you only need each other to have a good time.

The hot desert climate of Nevada and all the casinos surrounding you will make you feel like you are in a movie. In this Entertainment Capital of the World, you will also find many places you can visit during the day – this city isn’t only alive during nighttime: the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Old Las Vegas Mormon State Historic Park or Floyd Lamb Park – I would suggest that you choose to visit all of them.

The Smith Center in Symphony Park that hosts Broadway shows is a must see place, as you will get to enjoy ballet, various dance performances, opera and much, much more.

Then again, all you nature lovers can spend some quality time while taking photos in The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park that has to offer over 160 animal and plant species.

Don’t want to get too lazy on your honeymoon? Las Vegas offers many recreational places like the Las Vegas Springs Preserve – also an educational facility. What more could you could ask for?
