Jammu, December 22(Scoop News) –Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today appealed the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to the students to enable them to face future challenges.
The Minister for Revenue, Relief, as Chief Guest, was addressing the Annual Day Function Minerva School of Learning, a unit of Coventry Scholars at Dharmal Muthi Jammu, here this afternoon at Police Auditorium,
He said such occasions not only provide students a platform to the students to exhibit their hidden talent, but also introduce them with the culture and heritage of the State.
He urged upon the students to take part in co-curricular activities side by side academics for their overall personality development.
Inspector General of Police, Dilbagh Singh was the guest of honour.Other VIPs who were present including SDPO,Katra, P N Tikoo, Chairman of the Minerva School Sanjay Tikoo,Professer M L Malla,Dr M M Jotshi,MK Yogi, Anil Dhar, Mr. Bhalla asked the teaching fraternity to give their best to the students who are the future builders of the nation. He asked the students to work hard to secure cent percent marks in the exams adding that it is the merit which matters in the present day world.
Listing the measures taken by the government to improve the standard of education in the state, the Minister said a prestigious state-of-the-art auditorium is coming up at Govt Girls’ High School Gandhi Nagar to promote co-curricular activities among the students side by side academics adding that the project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 crore.
Mr. Bhalla informed that 19000 sq ft area auditorium would be fully air-conditioned with facilities for projector room, toilet, dressing room and VIP room. He said on its completion, the schools of Gandhi Nagar and its adjoining areas would be able to arrange annual days, seminars, symposium, debating contests besides craft meals, and exhibitions etc on nominal fee.
The Minister said instructions have been issued to Housing Board Corporation to complete the project by April 2012 for extending timely benefits to the students.
Earlier, the Chairman of Minerva School, Sanjay Tickoo presented a resume of the academic and co-curricular activities initiated by the school. He said that the school provides cost effective education, with a convenient location
The students of different classes presented a colorful cultural programme which was highly appreciated by the huge gathering.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed mementos among the meritorious students who brought laurels during 2010-11 examinations.
The function was also attended by Rajesh Dhar,Man Mohan and Sanjay Ji, Directors of the Coventry Scholars.
