Bharat Scouts & Guides organises awareness camp at Srinagar

Srinagar, April 18 (Scoop News) –  To inculcate awareness in the minds of the budding youth about the importance of scouting, a great function was today organised by State Bharat Scouts and Guides in collaboration with Government College of Education here on Wednesday.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon was the chief guest while the DIG, Civil Defence, Home Guards,  Mubarak Ahmed Ganai was the guest of the honour.

Addressing the Scouts, the Divisional Commissioner said that the need of the hour is to produce good disciplined leaders rather followers and added that if we inculcate better qualities, discipline and responsibilities of social activities in the minds of the young and budding youth, then we can expect better tomorrow of a civilised nation with good leaders who will lead the nation towards a good path and betterment .He said that today’s youth is our   future tomorrow. He said we should guide them for self less working and dedication towards the nation. He said that imparting moral values among the youth is very necessary for any good and developed society. He stressed upon the youth to respect their parents, teachers and follow the footsteps of the elders. He asked them to become the role models for others and be self reliant rather to be dependent on others. He said the vision of the scouts mission is self reliant, value based, quality oriented, well managed and offering. He said the youth should be supportive, responsible and committed person and also to improve the competencies of adult leaders so that they can betterly serve the needs of the young people.

The DIG, Civil Defence,  Mubarak Ganie, has been nominated District President, Bharat Scouts and Guides while  Aamar Ali has been selected District Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides Organisation.

Addressing the youth, the DIG asked them to serve the humanity and stressed upon them to inculcate moral education in their minds. He also emphasised for character building of the youth and imparting training in all aspects especially in disaster preparedness.

State chief commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides  Nazir ahamd Khan also addressed the Scouts.

On the occasion, a student Hafsa Muzaffer has been awarded Rs. 2000 and a citation as a best orator. The various cultural programmes were also present on the occasion.
