Udhampur/Jammu,October 29 (Scoop News) – District Level Science seminar (DLSS) on the topic “International Year of Bio-Diversity 2010-11” was organized by the District Institute of Education and Training, Udhampur (Kud) at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur on Friday.
As may as fifteen teachers drawn from eleven Educational zones participated in the seminar and expressed their views regarding the importance of conservation of Bio-Diversity in the present scenario and also threw light about the main aim of the seminar to make aware the audience, particularly the teaching class for the need to conserve the huge variety of plants and animals which are facing extinction following the human activities.
Miss Bharti Shishu of Government Girls High School, Garhi was adjudged first and second prized was went in favour of Ms Simple Kumari of Government Middle School Panchari while the third position was secured by Ms Shaguna Khajuria of Government Higher Secondary School, Salmerhi.
Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, S.K. Gandotra was the chief guest on the occasion who stressed the need for ecological balance to preserve the rich bio-diversity which has taken million of years to evolve.
Principal Govt. HSS, Chunata, Rashpal Singh, Pricipal HSS, Ramnagr, J.M. Tharmatt, Principal and HOD Diet, Smt. Shalesh Kumari were the judges.
On the occasion, Principal Govt. Girls HSS , Udhampur, Rameshwar Singh, Principal boys HSS , Hans Raj , ZEO, Jamil Beigh , Zonal Education Planning Officer, Bashir Husain and Ashok Khauria who prepared the seminar were present.
