Bicycles blown to bits is perhaps the only constant in the investigations conducted into the last few bomb blasts that rocked the country. A bomb placed on a bicycle is used by terrorists to gain height and ensures that splinters hit the torso of human body, resulting in maximum damage – instant death in most cases.The forensic tests in most cases points to the usual – Ammonium Nitrate mixed with iron ball-bearings and RDX used as a potent blast mixture.The Jaipur blasts were very similar to the terror strike in Hyderabad in August last year when explosions ripped through a crowded park and a popular eating joint, killing 42 people.Experts see a pattern emerging: explosives packed in containers tagged to bicycles or motorbikes with timer devices is a trademark Lashkar-e-Toiba tactic. Experts say this modus operandi has been carefully passed on to the Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (HuJI). The Bangla-Pak terror collaboration is now in the radar of not just Indian but international intelligence agencies. Interestingly, the foreign militant groups are now pushing Indian sleeper cells into action. So, there are more Indian blast suspects than ever before making it tougher for the agencies to crackdown on the mastermind/s.
