As a Republican I did expect that the debate would be slightly slanted against the Republican vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. However, after watching the debates I saw that Gwen, the moderator for the debates was quite fair and seems to share many special moments with McCain’s Vice Presidential choice. I found Joe Biden to be just that, Joe Biden, a very outspoken man that holds deep conviction for that which he believes in.
Nevertheless, the same could be said about Sarah Palin who seemed to be on the ball and answered all questions diplomatically without compromising her principles. Right from the gate Palin was on the attack and slammed Biden in several instances which left Biden defending not only his position and that of his principle Barak Obama.
While the candidates took all of the barbs in stride and there were some chuckles it is likely that they will fume over such allegations. I have seen and heard the polls show Biden having a commanding lead over who won the debate, but in my opinion I found that Mrs. Palin was very likeable, genuinely honest and inn fact, I wish that she was running for President.
I must say that having long term Senators running as Presidents does not appeal to me very much and it should be limited to governors. Just my opinion but Senators have been engaged in the dirt and filth of DC for too long. They have entered into deals which will not likely be in the best interest of the United States and they have their own agendas. I am afraid that I find myself agreeing with Palin on many of the issues and Biden struck me as disingenuous.
They did however; agree that Israel is a friend to the Untied State san that the US will always stand by her. This has always been a point of contention for evangelical voters, as well as abortion, ad abortion. I suppose we shall wait and see what comes of of the next debate perhaps Palin can walk away with it.
