In a huge victory for thousands of Indian doctors in the United Kingdom, a British Appeals Court upheld their appeal to force the British government to treat non-European Union medics on a par with Indian physicians.
The court judged in favour of the Indian doctors, saying a decision to decree that they could no longer apply for training posts was unlawful.
The judgement will pave the way for several-thousand Indian doctors to apply and be considered on merit alongside Europeans for medical training jobs in the UK.
