Bihar to have a studio for Bhojpuri films

A state-of-the-art studio for Bhojpuri films is likely to come up in Bihar.

Bhojpuri singer actor Manoj Tiwari on Friday claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has telephonically informed him that a studio will come up on 200 acres land on Rajgir road about 40 km away from Patna at the cost of Rs.200 crore.

Tiwari also said he had recently met the Chief Minister with the request to encourage and boost Bhojpuri film industry in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

“A committee will be set up to monitor the process of the studio construction. An IAS officer will be made the CEO of the studio. The studio will have facilities for shooting, dubbing, editing, mixing, preview theatre, lab, make up rooms. It will also house offices of producers, directors and actors,” Tiwari said.

Manoj Tiwari, who called for shifting of industry to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar last week, said Bhojpuri movies should be made in its native land just like south films, Bengali, Gujarati movies were made in their respective states.

Employment

He said shifting of the industry to U.P. and Bihar will boost employment opportunities for the local youth.

However some actors voiced their disapproval of Tiwari’s suggestion stating that they will not leave Mumbai
