Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates announced in a Conference at Canada that his Company is developing a system that would see the end of the use of ‘Computer Mouse’ The future computer users would control their machines by voice, pen and or touch.
With this in view, Windows 7 is being developed. When becomes operational, it would enable users to issue commands by touching the screen rather than by the traditional key board and mouse combinations.
It is not as if touch screens are anything new. Apple’s Touch screen i-Phone is one such popular example. Other devices which use touch screens are sat-naves, Mobile Phones and Remote-controls.
However, the novelty of Windows 7 is its capability to dispense away with the Mouse which has been dominating the scene since the 1970’s. It boasts of several other applications out of which one was demonstrated recently. The application called ‘touchable paint’ lets a user paint with their fingers and contains a software to organize photos or navigate maps by touch.
