Researchers say that as the population of birds dwindle, the ecosystem will go for a toss.Scientists and researchers reviewing data about the worlds known bird species (nearly 1000) have come to conclusion that between 500 and 1300 bird species will vanish by year 2100.
For example some bird types only polinate certain plants, so how would these plants survive with out them? Another example is the black browed albatross. If this bird vanishes, its habitat will also start fading away, as the dropings of the fish-eating seabirds helps in fertilisation of remote islands.
with fewer vultures around to eat animal carcasses, there is a less competition for food and this means that foxes as well as wild odgs have grown in number. Its an example of the complex chain of unexpected effects that can occur in nature.
Thus without the help of birds the world will end up looking very different and the ultimate sufferes will be you and me.
