BJP appeals political parties & Jammu people to bycott the interlocutors in Jammu

Jammu, Ocotober 27 (Scoop News) -The State BJP today appealed different political parties and people in Jammu to bycott the interlocutors during their stay in the winter capital.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu here, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that it has decided to bycott the Interlocutors appointed by the Centre to meet different shades of people in Jammu and Kashmir.sn He said that the party has taken this decision in view of the several irritating utterances made by the interlocutors, especially Dalip Padgaonkar, on Kashmir and Pakistan.

The three interlocutors, appointed by the Central government, have caste doubts about their credibility by making utterances as "Kashmir is disputed, involvement of Pakistan in dialogue is necessary”, which hurts the sentiments of the nationalist forces in the state, he said.

Their statements appear as pre-judging the issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, Manhas said.

Instead of talking about taking back the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), for which Parliament of India has passed unanimous resolution in 1994, the interlocutors seem to be addressing the seccessionist and separatist elements in the state, he said adding "one wonders whether they are representing India or Pakistan".

The BJP State Chief also pointed out that the interlocutors met jailed inmates, pro-separatist and Hurriyat leaders in Kashmir, which again indicates that they are not pursuing the mandate given to them for meeting all shades of opinion in the state in order to find the problems and the consequent remedy for them.sn

Reiterating party’s demand for abrogation of Article -370 guaranting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Manhas said that continuance of this Article has induced a sense of separatism among some sections of people as a result of which we have been facing problems in the state.

There is no need to have separate Constitution and separate flag for J&K and BJP has all along struggled for achieving Ek Vidhaan, Ek Pradhaan and Ek Nishaan. Although goal of Ek Pradhaan has been achieved, two other goals of getting rid of separate flag and separate constitution remain to be achieved and the BJP is committed to achieve it.
