Addressing a press conference Manhas said, “It is high time that the young chief minister resigns on moral and constitutional grounds for failure to govern in the state where separatists are issuing diktats.”
The coalition government of Congress-NC has miserably failed to address to the basic problems facing the people in three regions of the state and thus it has no right to continue, he said adding Omar should pave a way for new arrangement which can take care of needs and aspirations of the people of the state.
Announcing a programme of protest demonstrations in 41 assembly constituencies of J&K,Manhas said BJP will hold protest dharnas in all the 37 assembly constituencies of Jammu province and two each assembly constituencies of Kashmir and Ladakh regions on Wednesday (September 8) to register protest against the issue of ‘Autonomy’. Later, such protest demonstrations will continue at district hqrs. in different parts of the state till September 20. It will be followed by an agitational programme on the issue of Autonomy in J&K and other parts of the country, Manhas said.
Manhas said be it Sheikh Abdullah, his son Dr. Farooq Abdullah or grandson Omar Abdullah, each one of them has been raising the issue of “Autonomy” from time to time inorder to induce a sense of separation among the people of the valley for petty vote bank politics.
