BJP asked Omar to Quit due to failure of his government

Jammu,September 6 (Scoop News) –J&K State BJP President Shamsher Singh Manhas today asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to Quit due to failure of his government to bring normalcy in trouble-torn  valley, where violence has been continuing for more than two months.

Addressing a press conference Manhas said, “It is high time that the young chief minister resigns on moral and constitutional grounds for failure to govern in the state where separatists are issuing diktats.”

The coalition government of Congress-NC has miserably failed to address to the basic problems facing the people in three regions of the state and thus it has no right to continue, he said adding Omar should pave a way for new arrangement which can take care of needs and aspirations of the people of the state.

Announcing a programme of protest demonstrations in 41 assembly constituencies of J&K,Manhas said BJP will hold protest dharnas in all the 37 assembly constituencies of Jammu province and two each assembly constituencies of Kashmir and Ladakh regions  on Wednesday (September 8) to register protest against the issue of ‘Autonomy’. Later, such protest demonstrations will continue at district hqrs. in different parts of the state till September 20. It will be followed by an agitational programme on the issue of Autonomy in J&K and other parts of the country, Manhas said.
Manhas said be it Sheikh Abdullah, his son Dr. Farooq Abdullah or grandson Omar Abdullah, each one of them has been raising the issue of “Autonomy” from time to time inorder to induce a sense of separation among the people of the valley for petty vote bank politics. He said that Sardar Patel did a splendid work when he brought more than 540 princely states, including Jammu and Kashmir, to form a democratic India. Like  all the state of the country, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have no problem while remaining with India, the NC leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have been unnecessarily raking the issue to divert the attention of the people from real issues and bring it on their top agenda under political compulsions.
Manhas reminded the NC leaders, Dr. Farooq Abdullah in particular, that the only problem is taking back illegally occupied areas of PoK from Pakistan. In this regard, the Parliament of India has adopted a unanimous resolution in the year 1994 which stress on getting vacated PoK from Pakistan.
Dr. Abdullah has recently said that J&K has acceded to India and nobody can take the state out of Indian fold. Therefore it becomes his moral and constitutional duty to defeat the forces who are raising voices about finality of accession of this border state  with the rest of the country. Simultaneously, Dr. Abdullah is bound to contribute his might in getting PoK back as a part of J&K.
Manhas advised the NC Chief not to have contradictory stands by simultaneously speaking about accession of J&K to India and also demanding Autonomy for the state.
BJP stands for full integration of J&K with India and will utilize all its resources to defeat the forces who try to weaken the Indian sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir by raising demands like Autonomy, Self-Rule and Joint Management, Manhas said.
