Devender Singh Rana while speaking at a women’s rally at Bishnah said that the divisive politics of BJP is detrimental to the interest of the country. He said when the state government headed by Omar Abdullah is working towards bringing normalcy in the state there are certain political elements who for their own vested interests and vote bank politics are trying to disturb the peace for cheap publicity.
He said it is unfortunate that while the NDA government headed by former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee was advocating dialogue with Pakistan and people of Jammu & Kashmir to find a solution to the vexed Kashmir issue, the same BJP today is hell bent upon thwarting the major initiatives being taken by the UPA government to find a lasting permanent solution to the vexed issue. He said the integrity of Jammu & Kashmir cannot be compromised and all forces who are conspiring to disintegrate Jammu & Kashmir will not be allowed to succeed in the interest of the state and the country.
Rana said the National Conference – Congress coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah has unleashed an era of unparallel development in the state despite all odds and said that the state government is committed to equitable development of all the regions and sub-regions of the state.
Rattan Lal Gupta, while highlighting the policies and programmes of the Government said that coalition formation headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah will ensure equal development of the all the parts of the State. He appealed people to be ready for coming Panchayat elections, adding that transfer of power would improve the socio economic status of the people.
