Shamsher Singh Manhas was addressing the concluding session of 3-day “Parvesh Prashikshan Varg”at Jammu. He said for BJP, J&K is the crown of mother India and each one of us is a true sipahi, who have been working day and night to strengthen the nationalist forces and defeat the nefarious designs of all such forces which pose threat to the unity and integerity of the country.
Re-iterating that “integeration “ and ending “discrimination” with Jammu and Ladakh are among the prominent issues in party agenda, Manhas said that right from the days of Praja Parishad our activists have been agitating for abrogation of Article 370, which has only induced a sense of separatism among the people in valley and caused only loss in the state, Manhas said that we sacrificed 17 patriotic people during 1952 agitation launched to scrap separate constitition, seperate flag and the post of Prime Minister. It is our firm view that Special Status under Article 370 needs to be abrogated for full integeration of the state with the rest of the country. He said that high claims of ending discrimination are misleading and the fact is that glaring examples of discrimination appear evey now and then. It is witnessed that preferential treatment is meted out to
Making repeated attempts to tarnish the image of security forces and demanding their withdrawal by Kashmir-based regional political parties, Manhas reminded them that it was the timely deployment of army anf para-military forces in early nineties which restored the faith of the commom people. During the initial years of militancy these leaders too had fled and it was the army which protected the lives and property. Instead of charging the army for violation of Human Rights, leaders of PDP and NC, including Chief Minister, should appreciate the efforts of army and para-military forces towards bringing normalcy in the state. He said that the coming days will be of more challenges as the Congress-led UPA and NC-Congress coalition in the state are working in unison to appease the separatists and anti-national elements as it seems that the UPA may use the interlocutors to recommend what suits to those who demand autonomy, self-rule, azadi or pre-1953 position.
Member National Executive Dr. Nirmal Singh, who was Examination Incharge of the Varg, told that after three days of intense sessions, a writen test was conduted and all the appearing activists secured good marks, which itself prove that every one paid proper attention towards what was taught and briefed by national and state leaders during with a motive to acquaint party activists with the principles, ideology and working in an organisation by treating the others as members of a family.
