The government functionaries have been encouraging such elements who have been levelling flimsy charges against VDCs and demanding to disband them. He appealed the Bar Association, business, trade, industry, educational and transport organizations to extent their full support to make the bandh successful so that a clear message goes to the government that people are not going to tolerate the approach of the Union government towards terrorism.
Ashok Khajuria, on this occasion aid that the nationalist people should get united to make it loud and clear that the continuation of peace talks with Pakistan has prove to be a futile exercise and it should be made clear to Pakistan that enough is enough. He said that and the PM and CM should read writing on the wall, understand their constitutional duty to protect people and the territories. He also appealed for cooperation from all the organizations for bandh call. He expressed hope that the good sense will prevail on the UPA and the state government and they both will shed their soft approach towards Pakistan.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, while speaking in the meeting, said that whatever has happened in Hiranagar and Samba is the latest episode of the decades long continuous proxy war waged by Pakistan against India. He said that the failure on part of the UPA to expose Pakistan at International level and get it declared a terrorist state has encouraged it, which is indeed very unfortunate. He said that holding talks for the sake of talks only are not going to yield any positive results and the prime duty of our Union government should be to exert pressure on Pakistan to dismantle terrorist camps from its soil.
