BJP car rally on opening day of Darbar offices

Jammu, November 05(Scoop News) –    On the opening day of Darbar offices in Jammu, BJP activists under the leadership of State President Shamsher Singh Manhas took out a car rally through main bazars of Jammu city to remind the Omar-led coalition government of the problems being faced by the people and discrimination against  Jammu region at all levels. 

The rally, which was organized by Jammu district unit of  BJP under its President Rajesh Gupta, started from Paloura and culminated at Indira Chowk. 

Addressing the gathering at Indira Chowk, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the people of the state are suffering on account of inadequate supply of ration, shortage and black marketing of LPG and delay in holding the Urban Local Bodies elections despite repeated assurances by the state government. He said that the people are already finding it difficult to survive in view of the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities and are now made to cry for their survival as the monthly ration released to a family through government depots is too less. The decision of the Congress-led UPA government to bring down the number of subsidized LPG cylinders to six and open black marketing of these cylinders are a matter of concern but there is no one in the union and state governments to think of an aam aadmi. He said that  hollow claims are made in the name of development while nothing in practical is being done on ground. The delay in holding the elections to Urban Local Bodies speak volumnes of the seriousness on part of the government to make the people participate in developmental activities at grass-roots level.  He declared that the party will not allow the government to take anti-people and anti-Jammu decisions. 

BJP National Executive Member & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria said that today even after 65 years of Independence the people of Jammu region are subjected to discrimination by the successive Kashmir centric governments. He said that the government which claims to be working for the welfare of people is making efforts to appease separatist leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who have been dictating the government his own terms. He said that the separatists in the state are running their shops on anti-national plank and black mailing the government, which has given a free hand to them. He said that the need of the time is to get united to teach this pro-separatist coalition government a lesson.
