BJP condemns PDP’s suggestion links through Leh towards Centre Asia & China

Jammu,October 23 (Vijay Kumar) -BJP State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora condemns the suggestion made by PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig for asking the Govt. of India to open links through Leh towards Centre Asia and China. This statement is also endorsed by the Mehbooba Mufti and they call it as a step towards self-rule.

It may be mentioned here Senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig, while addressing a civil society seminar in Leh on Friday, said that the links from Ladakh opening into Central Asia and China would also have to be reopened as part of the self rule vision. He said that prior to the independence Ladakh region was an important by-lane of fabled silk route which contributed greatly to the economy of the region. He said these roads leading up to Mansaroar Kashghar, Khotan, Turtuk-Khapnu, Kargil-Skardu and Lasa could be reopened once the atmosphere of understanding and friendship was created for which the PDP was striving for. Baig said that the people of all the regions of the state would have to add their voice and energies to bring about such a change which could realize the huge economic potential of the state.

BJP State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora while talking to reporters said that we fail to understand weather it is "self-rule" or "no rule" or a stand which will tarnish and destroy the sovereignty of the state and the country. In democracy right to express divergent opinion exist, but when it exceeds the limits it has to be checked by all legal means. Recent statements of these leaders amounts to contempt of the constitution and democracy. PDP leaders do not allow any occasion to pass, without making comment against the interest of the country and that of the state.

Ramesh Arora further said everyone is aware that relation with China are stained especially when China has started new method of issuing VISA to residents of Jammu and Kashmir on separate paper and projecting Kashmir as separate country. These type of statements will further deteriorate the situation and will also put a question mark over the credibility of these leaders. We have not forgotten the days when CPI (M) in 1962 said that "China can never be aggressor" inspite of the fact that China has attacked India. Arora said the situation is delicate and all major countries are shifting their strategic are concentrating their muscle power towards Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir. In such like circumstances we should be more responsible and conscious while making statements which affects the external affairs of the country. Arora suggested Centre government to assert its power and stop such so-called local leaders from making attempts which are against the national interest. If these leaders do not agree than they should be booked and be sent behind bars like Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah was imprisoned for his seditious approach in 1953.
