Jammu, February 01 (Scoop News) – Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State President Munish Sharma, in consultation with BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, had expelled Varun Chandan from the primary membership of the party with immediate effects on moral grounds keeping in view the reported allegation of his involvement in immoral activity and registration of FIR for the same at Rajouri.
In a statement Munish Sharma said that the party stands for moral values and principles and as such any activists, irrespective of his position in the party, is expected to uphold the moral standard and values.
Meanwhile BJP MLAs Sukhnandan Kumar and Shyam Choudhary, after conducting an extensive tour of Gharana, Nai Basti, Chakrohi, Puropana, Gho-Manasa, Nagrota, Samgrampur, Parwa and Rathoa villages of Suchetgarh and Marh assembly constituencies, said that the work for desilting of Ranbir canal and its tributaries should be undetaken at appropriate time without any delay.
The MLAs, who interacted with a number of farmers in these areas and took stock of their problems, said that every member of farming community was of the view that the recent rains have left enough waters in the fields even in these days when there is no urgent need of water for irrigational purposes. They said that the sowing season is also not in near future so the work for desilting of the canal feeding the fields should be undertaken. He said the department keeps sleeping when it has enough time to get repair work and desitling of canal done but it only starts these works when the farmer is in fields and needs water from canals.
The MLAs advised the department of irrigation to make use of time and complete the work of desiliting of canal when there is no need of water in fields. They threatened to block and protest on National highway in case the department creates problems for the farmers during the sowing season.
Both, Sukhnandan Kumar and Shyam Choudhary assured the farmers at these places that they are well aware of their grievances and problems and are committed to raise these in the assembly as well as on roads. They said that the farmers are their brothers and can approach them any time in case of any matter related to their welfare and betterment.
