BJP leaders hold meeting with JK CM

Jammu, April 05 (Scoop News) –    A high level BJP delegation led by its State President Shamsher Singh Manhas and consisting of senior party leaders including National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh, National Executive Member & MLA Ashok Khajuria,   Leader of Legislative Party Jugal Kishore Sharma, National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh and two State General Secretaries Satish Sharma and Sat Sharma (C.A) held a meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and apprised him of BJP’s concern about some of the sensitive issues confronting the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

The BJP leaders expressed apprehension that the reduced duration of forthcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra could emerge as a major controversy in coming months and that the party had brought this to the notice of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board as well as Governor. The BJP leaders suggested that since law and order was as much a concern of  opposition parties as the ruling party, therefore the Chief Minister should also have a word with Governor on the issue.

The party president Shamsher Singh Manhas explained the party’s position vis-a-vis the status of seven MLAs whose disqualification from Legislative Assembly had been sought by the party high command and said that any confusion in this regard created from any quarter may not be healthy for a democratic setup.

The BJP leaders also appealed to Chief Minister to look into the sixth pay commission issue concerning University Teachers for which Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA) is demanding the stipulated grant from State government.

The issue of Agricultural Technocrats on strike and the Schedule Caste grievance regarding absence of reservation quota in mass regularization of Rehbar-e-Taleem employees in Education Department also came up for discussion and the chief minister explained the government’s position on both these issues.
