Jammu, April 17 (Scoop News) -Member of Parliament & BJP National Vice-President Shanta Kumar today congratulated the BJP party leaders and activists for unanimously electing Shamsher Singh Manhas as the new J&K State President of the state Unit. He said it is a very healthy practice in our party that the committed workers are rewarded with the higher positions irrespective of their religion, region, caste or creed. Ours is not a dynastic party and it never promotes a particular family.
He was inaugurating the 2-day meeting of the State Working Committee at Sehyog Milan Hall in Bohri area of Talab Tillo About 150 delegates from different parts of the State are attending this meeting.Shanta Kumar,alongwith State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, Leader of Legislators party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh and former State President & MLA Ashok Khajuria lighted the traditional lamp and garlanded the portraits of Bharat Maa, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerji and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya.
Shanta Kumar in his inaugural address said that the BJP workers have been working for the cause of the common people and strengthening the nationalist forces in every part of the country but in J&K our activists have to put more efforts and make sacrifices as they have to face more complicated situation here. He said every now and then, such developments take place which are in no way healthy for our motherland.
Shamsher Singh Manhas in his welcome address, said that after independence, we have been agitating for the national cause in the state and ensuring its full integration with the rest of the country. We have even sacrificed our great leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerji while fighting against the practice of permit system and the provision of separate flag, separate constitution and separate Prime Minister. He said while our party has a long history of sacrifices in the state, the Congress has always betrayed the people for the cause of the chair only. Be it NC or PDP, for Congress it makes no difference. The one point agenda of the Congress is to remain in power. He asked the party activists to reach the masses and expose the Congress-led UPA and the NC-Congres in the state for their anti-people policies.
