Jammu,May 11 (Scoop News) – BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas today strongly oppose the charging of rupees 25,000 as non-refundable security from the social and religious organizations willing to set langars in the state during Shri Amar Nath Yatra.. He also opposes tooth and nail the imposition of rupees 2300 on each truck entering Lakhanpur carrying the yatra related material or groups of pilgrims.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas was addressing a meeting at Doda during the last leg of his 5-day extensive tour of different and far flung hilly areas of Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda.
Manhas said that charging of such huge amounts from the Langer Parties and the trucks is not less than jazia and such decisions are taken whenever the Congress joins hands with any regional party to share the power in the state. He said it was during the 2008 coalition of PDP and Congress also that the Jammu province had to agitate for complete 63 days to get restored land in favour of Shri Amar Nath Shrine Board.
The BJP Chief also criticized the elected representatives from Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar, some of whom are even ministers in the state’s coalition, of preferring members of a particular community in matters of development and welfare related schemes. He said that many kandi areas lack adequate water supply as the inhabitants there belong to some other faith. He said an elected representative should work in an impartial manner and treat all the people of his constituency equal, irrespective of their religion, caste, colour or creed.
Som Raj Khajuria, Sunil Sharma, Shakti Parihar, Ishtiaq Wani, Dalip Parihar, Swami Raj and Basant Raj were the other BJP leaders who also addressed this workers meeting at Doda.
