BJP refutes media reports about expulsion of 6 MLAs

 Jammu and Kashmir: As soon as the new of expulsion of 6 BJP legislatures spread like wild fire across the state, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit leadership and central monitoring authorities confusedly responded the telephone call by categorically rejecting any such orders from party high command or the decision taken by Parliamentary Board.

State President, Shamsher Singh said that there is nothing like that but it is merely rumors being spread by vested interests. He added that in case any decision reaches to them from high command they will share with press and public.  While talking to Kashmir Images, Jugdish Mukhi, Prabhari (J&K) completely rejected reports published in a section of press, however, he said that high command has convened a meeting over the issue and final verdict would be taken soon.  Arun Jaitley, senior BJP leader and BJP National President Nitin Gadkari were not available for their comments on the issue due to their scheduled out of station.

“We have not been served any orders verbal or written as Prabharis are stationed in Jammu” said Baldev Raj, MLA from Reasi. In reply to a question he said that certain elements are hell bent to damage BJP and are denting the ethics of journalism by publishing unfounded and baseless news items.

It is important to mention that, BJP had faced embarrassment on April 13 when seven of its legislators violated the party whip and voted for the National Conference-Congress alliance candidates instead of party nominee Thakur Ranjit Singh. Thakur polled only four votes, though the party strength in the assembly was 11. One lawmaker, Chaman Lal Gupta, was expelled from the party in May while the remaining six were suspended in last meet.  The fresh expulsion comes within days of the conclusion of the autumn session of the assembly in Srinagar where Congress had questioned the presence of "tainted" BJP lawmakers in the house.
