Jammu, June 19, ( Scoop News)- “The office-bearers of the state unit of the BJP on June 15 resolved to accomplish Mission 44+ in Jammu & Kashmir and form government in the state on its own. The formation of nationalist government in Jammu & Kashmir is a national requirement. The formation of BJP government in the state would surely result in its complete political and constitutional integration into India, promotion of sound politics based on democratic and economic issues, elimination of fissiparous tendencies in the state and equal development of all the three regions – Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”. This was stated here today at the party headquarters, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan, by State General Secretaries Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat while addressing a press conference. More than 50 office-bearers of the party, including Party President Jugal Kishore Sharma (MP), J&K In-charge Avinash Rai Khanna (MP), Co-in-charge R.P Singh (MLA), General Secretaries Kavinder Gupta, Bali Bhagat and Rajiv Singh Jasrotia, all the MLAs and members of National Executive Committee Ashok Khajuria, Dr Nirmal Singh and Shamsher Singh Manhas, first met at Bhaderwah on June 14 for two hours and then held a day-long meeting on June 15 at salubrious Jai to discuss the strategy to accomplish the party’s Mission 44+ and form government in the state, Gupta and Bhagat said.
There was consensus that the political situation in Jammu & Kashmir is conducive for achieving the Mission 44+, the BJP leaders disclosed, and further said: “The Congress and the NC are in complete disarray. They have lost their sheen and appeal and become thoroughly unpopular owing to their acts of omission and commission, anti-people and anti-democratic policies and their pro-separatist politics and utter failure to deliver on any front. The pro-self-rule PDP, like the Congress and the NC, has also been rejected outright by Jammu and Ladakh”.
“If the BJP could win three out of six Lok Sabha seats in the state and get over 32 per cent of the popular votes polled and decimate the Congress, NC and the PDP in Jammu and Ladakh, why can’t it win more than 44+ seats in the state,” all the senior leaders of the party said in one voice at Jai, and added that the historic victory of the BJP at the national level and formation of BJP-led NDA government at the Centre have changed the political discourse in the country with all sections of society, including minority communities such as Muslim, coming forward in large numbers to join the BJP and adopting a very positive approach towards the Narendra Modi-led government as well as the BJP. The BJP leaders expressed the hope that the Muslims of Kashmir, who have been ditched and exploited by the Kashmiri leadership, would surely support the BJP and join the mainstream politics to enjoy the fruits of Indian democracy.
Gupta and Bhagat further said that the leadership of the party would intensify its activities in the coming days calculated to achieve the stated goal and formed various committees for the purpose. The BJP will hold a day-long working committee meeting in Jammu on June 23 (martyr’s day) with Chander Mohan Gupta and Pramodh Kapahi charged with the responsibility of making all the necessary arrangements, they said. They also disclosed that district working committee meetings would be held across the state in June and Mandal working committees would be held before July 15. Parivartan Yatras will be organized in all the 87 constituencies between July 15 and August 15 and constituency-wise rallies will be held in September with Shamsher Singh Manhas as in-charge of the rallies.
The state leadership also charged party president Jugal Kishore Sharma, Dr Nirmal Singh and Ramesh Arora with the responsibility of taking care of Kashmir and finding suitable candidates there. Senior BJP leader and (Retd) IGP Farooq Khan will work for the success of the party in the Rajouri-Poonch, Udhampur and hilly areas of erstwhile Doda district. This was disclosed by Gupta and Bhagat, who also said that Dr Nirmal Singh would also take care of Ladakh and Prof Hari Om will head the manifesto committee of which Ghulam Ali Khatana (State Secretary) and Ravinder Raina (BJYM President) will be the two members. Dr Nirmal Kamal, Spokesperson, will also assist Prof Hari Om. Sat Sharma (CA) and Karan Singh will be in-charge of Parivartan Yatras and also help the party organize community-wise sammelans; Vice-President Col Uttam Singh and MLAs will identify election-related issues; Harinder Gupta and Munish Sharma (State Secretary) will take care of booth management-related issues; State General Secretaries and the three MPs will identify those central projects which could be sanctioned for the state; Vice-President Ramesh Arora (Adv.) and Farooq Khan will prepare a detailed charge-sheet against the NC-Congress coalition government; Balbir Ram Rattan and Pt Ashok Kumar Khajuria will identify the media-related problems, Gupta and Bali said.
Gupta and Bhagat, in addition, informed that Union ministers will visit all the assembly segments in July to improve the poll prospects of the party in the state and they will stay with party workers and not in government rest houses during the visits to the state. Besides, they said Jugal Kishore Sharma (MP) and Jitendra Singh (M0S PMO) will soon set up their private offices in Jammu for the convenience of the public.
