BJP stands on its Kashmir Flag Hoisting programme

Jammu, January 7 (Scoop News) – BJP will continue its Kashmir Flag Hoisting programme and any attempt to disturb it will not be tolerated.

BJP  State Vice-president & Kashmir Prabhari Chander Prakash Ganga and State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora weas addressing  a joint press conference in Jammu today. Chander Prakash Ganga said that Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi started symbolic yatra in 1992 and BJP will  continue the same with the full involvement of local unit. He said that the party reject they appeal of State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not hoisting flag on January 26 at Lal Chowk. Tri-colour flag is a symbol of national respect, even  Supreme Court have endorsed that every citizen has a right to hoist national flag subject to certain restrictions. He further said that Omar Abdullah has termed this programme as provocative “Aag Lagane Wala” is really immature statement against democratic setup. BJP is trying to correct misdeeds committed by the government by making unnecessary controversy over accession.

Gannga said the decision of BJP Youth Wing—BJYM—to hoist national tri-colour in Kashmir is of great significance in view of the developments in the state..  

Ganga said that accession with India is complete and 1994 unanimous resolution of Parliament of India is clear on the subject. Ramesh Arora, while addressing the press conference, said that senior leader of Congress party has termed this flag hoisting as Tamasha of BJP and probably they have forgotten that whether Prime Minister of India, Chief of the State, Ministers and other senior leaders of the Congress use to celebrate Tamasha by hoisting national flag. It is total disrespect to national flag that is why BJP national leadership has taken up matter with President of India and we will also take up the same issue with Governor of the state. Both being Custodial and Heads of the constitution are duty bound to protect the dignity and respect of national flag. BJP is committed to hoist the national flag “tiranga” as per scheduled programme. 

Arora said that state government policies are responsible for killing of more than 100 youth in Kashmir as part from the approach of separatists. Raising question mark over merger is not acceptable, resettlement policy of militants is not in national interests, demand for withdrawl of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) is unjustified and such like policies of the state government are responsible for turmoil in Kashmir. He afffirmed the stand of hoisting national flag as per commitment. BJP leaders from Kashmir & State Vice-president Sofi Yousuf also addressed the press confernece. He declared that the Kashmir unit is eagerly for guests from across the country to welcome in Kashmir and accompany them to hoist national flag at Lal Chowk on Republic Day.

 National Executive Member Kissan Morcha  M.M. War, Vice-president Kissan Morcha M. Ashraf Azad, National Secretary Minority Morcha Mustaq Noorbadi and Core Committee Member Kashmir Sadeeq Khan were also present in the press conference.
