Jammu, January 07, (Scoop News)- Accusing Congress of toying with the dangerous idea of implementing the break-Jammu Dixon Plan, BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with State General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul and Prof. Hari Om, his Political Advisor, on Tuesday declared that the BJP will not allow division of Jammu province on communal lines at any cost. “The BJP will mobilize public opinion throughout the country to defeat the sinister game plan of the Congress-led UPA Government,” Jugal Kishore Sharma said, and added that Jammu province has a distinct identity and personality and it has to be maintained come what may”.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, who during his day long busy schedule, met various deputations from his assembly constituency at party headquarters, chaired a meeting for finalizing category-wise programmes besides addressing separate meetings of party activists at Vijaypur and Samba made these statements.
Sharma said that “the reported move of the Congress to create three regional council in Jammu province, one each for three districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar, two districts of Rajouri and Poonch and Jammu plains, is fraught with dangerous consequences and this move will be defeated comprehensively,” Sharma said. “The whole idea of creating three regional councils in Jammu province is based on former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf’s four-point formula, Dixon Plan and insidious formulation of Chairman of Minorities Commission Wajahat Habibullah and is designed to help the supporters of Greater Kashmir achieve their age-old objective. This is not acceptable to the people of Jammu province and the nation as a whole, as it helps Pakistan play its nefarious games in this highly strategic region,” Sharma further said, adding that the “BJP stands for the unity of Jammu province, integration of Jammu & Kashmir with India and political and economic empowerment of the neglected regions and neglected communities”. “This is the BJP mantra and it is religiously committed to it,” said Sharma while interacting with scores of party activists who gathered at the party headquarters to register their emphatic protest against the reported move of the Congress to divide Jammu province on communal lines.
Sharma also reassured the party workers that that the BJP has been fighting a relentless war against the pro-autonomy, pro-self-rule and pro-Azadi elements in the Kashmir Valley and their handful of supporters in Jammu province since decades and its struggle would continue until the State of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh is integrated completely with India and the Indian Constitution applied to the state in full, minus anti-people, anti-democratic, communal and divisive Article 370. The BJP State President further told them that the party would discuss this issue threadbare in the upcoming two-day State Executive meeting to be held at Kathua on January 21 and 22.
The BJP State President Sharma also took the opportunity to tear into the Congress ministers who became a party to the irrational decision of the State Cabinet to grant the status of backward area to 28 villages in Kashmir and only 17 in Jammu and that too only in the assembly constituencies of Doda, Banihal and Akhnoor, which are represented by the Congress ministers. He said there are scores of villages in Jammu province, including Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Jammu, Udhampur, Poonch and Rajouri districts which also deserved a similar treatment. He said the BJP will take up this issue in a big way during the Executive Body meet.
