BJP’s 10-day Jan Jagran Yatra from November 2

Jammu, October 31 (Scoop News)-With just two days remaining for commencement of the State BJP’s scheduled four yatras  from Hiranagar, Paddar, Samba and Poonch, the party on Monday released two documents containing the issues confronting the state which have not been attended at all besides record breaking corruption and scams in the state.

BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, alongwith National Executive Members- Dr. Nirmal Singh, Ashok Khajuria (MLA) and Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLA), who will be leading the four yatras,  released these documents at party headquarters on Monday and briefed the media about the purpose and motive for taking out these yatras preceding L.K. Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra, reaching Jammu on November 16.

Shamsher Singh Manhas, while re-iterating party’s demand for resignation of Omar Abdullah, said that the present NC-led coalition in the state has become den of corruption. Instead of attending to the problems of refugees, farmers, unemployed youth, SCs, STs, OBCs, women, SPOs and VDCs, this coalition is busy promoting dynastic rule and encouraging corrupt elements. Discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh, freezing of delimitation till 2026, grievances of employees, non-implementation of 73rd Amendment of the Indian Constitution thus trivalizing the recent panchayat elections and the institution of Panchayats  and the other burning issues which need to be addresed but Omar Abdullah led coalition has least concern towards them. Instead of focussing on tackling the land scandals regarding defence land around Srinagar Airport, making State Accountability Commission functional and ensuring that the collossal amounts of money spent on Dal cleaning do make a slight dent in filth and dirt of the world famous Lake, he is busy tweeting and expressing his compassion for Afzal Guru and his ilk. He said the party will raise the awareness of the masses over the failure of the government in taking these issues seriously and garner their support in exerting pressure on Omar to quit.

Manhas announced that Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma (C.A.), Vibodh Gupta and Sunil Sharma will be the Yatra Incharge for those commencing from Hiranagar, Samba, Poonch and Paddar respectively.

Dr. Nirmal Singh said that whether it is Congress-led UPA at the centre or NC-Congress coalition in the state, both have failed to come upto the expectations of the people. Omar abdullah, who had been projected as young, dynamic and people friedly Chief Minister has belied all these expectations and has been found indulging in making anti-national statements, making statements which obliquely betray his soft corner for the terrorists like Afzal Guru and politicising the issue of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) with the intentions of diverting the attention of the masses from his failures, which is indeed unfortunate for the nation as well as the state.

Ashok Khajuria said that the root cause of all the problems facing the state is the separate flag, which has induced a sense of different identity from the citizen of Indians among the Kashmiris and sooner it goes better it will be for the state and its people. He further said that the provision of Article 370 has also given the Kashmiris to understand that they are very special and that the Union government can be made to bow at any time and secure whatever is desired. He charged the state government of playing with the future of the youth by taking anti-youth decisions.

Jugal Kishore Sharma said that these yatras are of great significance as the real approach of the Omar-led coalition towards the masses will be exposed through different programmes, meetings and interaction durting the movement of party leaders enroute yatra. He said the BJP will also advise the people as to what they can do to get rid of the Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister so that this dark period in the history of J&K is over and the grievances of the people are taken care of.
