Jammu, June 24 (Scoop News) – Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), State President Munish Sharma , termed the entry tax on Amarnath Yatri vehicles at Lakhanpur as JAZIA saying that the present NC-Congress coalition government in the state has least respect for the religious sentiments of the Hindus. He said most unfortunate is the stoic silence of the ministers hailing from Jammu, who till date have not uttered a single word over the decision of the government. He alleged that it should leave no one in any doubt that they are more concerned for their chair than working towards ensuring equal treatment to people of all the faiths.
In continuation of its campaign against imposition of Entry Tax at Lakhanpur on vehicles carrying pilgrims for the holy cave of Amarnath, hundreds of activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Jammu District, today held a massive protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of the state government. Led by BJYM district President Munish Khajuria, the morcha activists raised slogans against the decision of the government and demanded immediate withdrawal of this discriminatory decision.
Munish Khajuria, speaking on the occasion, said that the successive governments in the state have worked for appeasement of followers of a particular faith and discriminating with others in one way or the other. He said the recent decision of the state government to charge Rs. 2000 from vehicles carrying pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra is a conspiracy to intentionally to throttle the visit of Hindu pilgrims in the state. He said it is not for the first time that such a decision has been taken. In the past also, 2008 in particular, the Kashmir-centric government in the state forced the lakhs of Hindus to agitate for 63 days against the decision aimed at creating hurdles in the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra. He warned the government to immediately withdraw this decision failing which the BJYM activists will further intensify their agitation and also reach the masses to oppose the discriminatory move of the government and also expose the Jammu based ministers in the coalition for becoming party in such decision which has directly hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
