Bo Dietl Guards KFC Secret Recipe Transport

Bo Dietl, a security expert and former New York police officer was given the task of transporting KFC’s secret recipe for their original fried chicken when it needed to be temporarily removed from the company’s corporate office.

Bo Dietl was handcuffed to a briefcase containing the aged papers where Colonel Harland Sanders scrawled his now-famous recipe. He then entered an armored car and was whisked away with the escort of an off-duty police officer. Why did the recipe need to leave corporate headquarters? They are improving security.

Another question is why KFC is guarding their recipe for fried chicken so closely. The answer is that they believe it is the key to their billion-dollar business. Only two executives at KFC have access to the 68-year-old recipe so the secrecy is no joke.

Bo Dietl assures the company that the recipe will be in safe hands as long as he is responsible for it. "There is no way, shape or form … that anybody is going to get their hands on this recipe," Dietl said. "And if they get their hands on this recipe, they have to take me with them."
