2 passenger boats collided in a river in Bangladesh on Friday, leaving at least 46 people dead.
The collision occurred in Kishoreganj district, approximately 100 kilometers north of the capital, Dhaka. One of the ships capsized.
100 people were reportedly on board the capsized boat. Some passengers managed to swim to safety or were rescued.
As per police say at least 46 people died, including children and women.
At the time of the accident, fog was lowering visibility.
Not to say,but the ships are a vital means of transportation on Bangladesh’s many rivers.
Poor safety measures have led to boat accidents, including the sinking of a ferry one week earlier that killed more than 80 people.
