Bob Dylan to Release a Christmas Album

1960’s folk music icon Bob Dylan is reportedly hard at work making an as of yet untitled Christmas album, believed to be released between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2009. The album will comprise traditional Christmas songs presented in the unique style of Dylan, a musical legend who is still quite popular and active in his 65th year. Dylan’s last effort "Together Through Life" released in April 2009 has sold over 300,000 copies thus far.

Dylan’s Christmas album has reportedly four songs completed so far including "Must Be Santa", "Here Comes Santa Claus", "O Little Town Of Bethlehem", and "I’ll Be Home For Christmas". The new tracks for the album were recorded at Jackson Browne’s Groove Master Studios in Santa Monica, California. It is unclear as of this time if there will be a series of concert performances to promote Dylan’s Christmas Album, but there is considerable speculation of the possibility.

The new album is not the first time Bob Dylan has ventured into a topic associated with religion. Since becoming a born-again Christian in the late 1970’s, Dylan has released two Gospel-type albums "Slow Train Coming" in 1979 (for which he won a Grammy Award) and "Saved" in 1980.
