Srinagar, April 25 (Scoop News) –Leh police recovered a body from the banks of Indus river at Stakna, Leh in the jurisdiction of police station Leh, who was later identified as Lance Naik Stanzin Thapa of 3rd Bn. Ladakh Scouts son of Sonam Wangchock resident of Karsha Zanaskar, Kargil, who was missing since 18.04.2013.
Leh police has initiated an inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard. The body handed over his relatives after completing all legal formalities for last rites.

JK01K/0344 of Mohammad Yasin Dar son of Abdul Ahad resident of Zainakote was damaged in a fire incident at his residence at Zainakote, Srinagar in the jurisdiction of police station Parimpora. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident. Police is investigating the cause of the fire.
Due to electric short circuit, fire broke out in an electric Transformer at Sheikh Mazar, Hazratbal, Srinagar, in the jurisdiction of police station Nigeen, resulting in partial damage to the electric wooden pool and electric cables. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
Fire broke out in the joint residential house of Mohammad Maqbool Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad and Mushtaq Ahmad Rather son of Habibullah residents of Ajas, Bandipora, in the jurisdiction of police station Sumbal, resulting in partial damage to the house.
