Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has claimed responsibility for the bomb explosion in Lagos as well as the bombing at the shopping centre in the heart of the capital that killed at least 22 people
In a fresh video, Abubakar Shekau was surrounded by about ten gunmen in front of two armored personnel carriers and two pickup trucks all putting on army uniform and their faces covered “A bomb went off in Lagos, I ordered the bomber who went and detonated it”.
In the video, Shekau mimicked the Governor of Lagos state “you said, it was a fire accident, if you hide it from people, you cannot hide it from Allah”.
He also claimed responsibility for the bombing of a shopping mall in Abuja upmarket Wuse II district, “We were the ones that exploded the bomb in filthy Abuja”. In the sixteen-minute video, Shekau also said his loyalists carried out the twin car bombings attack on May in the Central city of Jos and a June attack at a public health college in the Northern city of Kano.
He also mimicked the Bring Back our Girls Campaign, which calls for the return of more than two hundred schoolchildren Boko Haram, abducted.
He ridiculed the “Bring back our girls” slogan used by the international community to pressure for the release of the school girls “Bring back our girls—-Bring back our army”. He also ridiculed western education. Boko Haram means western education is forbidden along with “the ideologies of France, England, America, China and the rest of the whole world” as he pledged to be a huge problem for the West and Nigeria.
He also alleged his support for the extremist Sunni Islamic State (ISIS) military group which has overpower large swathes of Syria and Iraq in his video.
