An anonymous phone call to police on Saturday afternoon threatening to blow up a metro station here triggered panic at the facility.
The Police Control Room received the threat call at around 12:45pm (local time) that bombs were placed in the Chawri Bazar metro station and it would be blown up, a senior police official said.
Bomb disposal teams and dog squads were rushed to the spot to conduct searches at the underground metro station.
"We are conducting searches and simultaneously trying to identify the caller," the official said.
The Delhi Police had on May 15 received a phone call from an unidentified caller threatening to blow up Sai Baba Temple in South Delhi, which later turned out to be hoax after intensive searches.
