Embezzlement of Million rupees revealed in Booni road repairing on self help basis.

CHITRAL: Booni Chitral road which had been damaged near Shogram in 2010 by tremendous flood as a result road was damaged for half kilometer and people were facing great problems. Vehicles were converted in river bank and passengers suffering from dust. It was revealed that millions of rupees have been misappropriated in this road. A local person said that its contract was given to a local contractor Ameerullah former UC Nazim who demolished rock by sipping water from a pipe and submitted claim of 120 million to C & W (Communication & works ) department. During visit of the area by this scribe local people complained that former Executive Engineer C & W and Syed Jalal Jan proposed road on the peak of a rigid rock which was flopped after a few meters of its construction and millions of rupees were wasted. Hundred of Local people of the area outer of their houses and came to damaged portion and started work for its rehabilitation on self help basis. In this connection when MPA of upper Chitral Ghulam Muhammad contacted he said that I tried of my best for getting fund for this road but C&W department could not prepare PC-1 and it was not added in annual developmental plan (ADP). He denied of embezzlement of million of rupees hence he criticized poor performance of C & W department because construction of this road was over delay due to apathy of concerned department. He said that I have already included this road in umbrella scheme of the district and fund also have been approved work will be started within a few days. Fazlur Rehman of Booni appreciated local people of the area who work on self help basis for restoring traffic on this road which is lying damaged for the last 3 years. Residents of the area have demanded from Chief Minister for conducting an inquiry to probe embezzlement million of rupees in this road which was left incomplete.
