Leh/jammu.August 15 (Scoop News) – A Border Personnel Meeting was organized between India and China on Sunday Independence Day at Indian Border Personnel Meeting Hut at Chushul, to celebrate the Indian Independence Day.
India and China have signed two landmark agreements namely “Peace and Tranquility Agreement in 1993” and “Confidence Building Measures” in 1996. The Border Meetings also paves the way for greater interaction between Border Forces on both the sides. Border Personnel Meetings in Eastern LadakhSector are held six times a year, between the Indian and Chinese Military delegations.
A The Chinese delegation was lead by Senior Colonel Awng Yang Dei was received by the Indian Delegation Leader Brigadier YK Joshi,Vir Chakra. To commence the meeting, the Indian National flag was hoisted and both the Chinese and Indian delegations saluted the tricolor. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual trust and camaraderie, greetings were exchanged by both the sides. Also, both sides agreed to maintain peace, stability and tranquility in the region in consonance with Border Peace and Tranquility Agreements.
At the end of the meeting both delegations saluted the tricolor and Chinese delegation were escorted back to Line of Actual Control. The friendly interactions between the two forces have played a significant role in promoting and strengthening bonds of friendship, mutual trust and confidence between the two armies.
