Boxing Poetics aims to bring boxing and poetry together. It is boxing news in verse and rhyme. If you have a boxing poem, you can email it to edwinladaga@aol.com.
I have been looking into comments and blogs of several boxing fans in different websites. I find this entertaining poem written by the name of Adeno.
Hail Your King
by Adeno
Leave your doubts and fears behind,
start your march into the ring,
this is no time to be kind,
unleash the fury that you bring!
Show no mercy you’re the king,
pound his body and crush his heart,
if you get hit just raise your arms,
retaliate with all your might!
Don’t let others decide the conclusion,
for some men were truly born blind,
use the speed, use the mind, you can put him down,
dismantle this man named Ricky Hatton!
Old man Floyd can talk for eternity,
but the ring is no place for poetry,
fight for glory and raise your name,
Manny Pacquiao is at the top of his game!
I’m called Roach the master planner,
I lay the paths for Manny to conquer,
I’m his eyes when he cannot see,
together we strive for victory!
Prepare the words that meet defeat,
watch us celebrate in the ring,
I’d love to hear what you have to rhyme,
when your boy has fallen for the last time!
Manny and I will rule this world,
nobody else deserves his throne,
through wars together we shall stand,
hail the king, he is Manny Pacquiao,
hail the king, he is Manny Pacquiao!
