Brailovsky Blasted In Mexico

Sports daily Ovaciones blasts América, especially coach Daniel Brailovsky, for the club’s loss to Arsenal in the final of the Copa Sudamericana.

According to the daily, they lost from the moment that they did not know that away goals counted, or how they say in Mexico "counted double" but there were other factors that contributed to this last-minute debacle.

"América lost because they did not act with greatness… the greatness a club like América has.  They lost to a team that showed more humility and desire to win a trophy."   The simple fact that Brailovsky brought back his team to defend instead of continuing the attack on the Argentines that were left stunned after the visitors increased their lead to 2-0.  Brailovsky showed that his "television verbosity" after the match stating that the team was "robbed".

"In reality it was (Brailovsky’s) fault that the team lost after he told his side to defend and forfeit their shot at winning an international title."  Las Águilas were caressing the Sudamericana title with seven minutes left until Martín Andrizzi put a ball past three players and Guillermo Ochoa in an almost Herculean effort.

Brailovsky, a former Argentine and Israeli international, was working as a commentator with ESPN in Mexico City prior to being named  Luis Fernando Tena’s replacement two months ago.
