Brailovsky Close To Gone?

Daniel Brailovsky could be back as an analyst at ESPN quicker than you can say Cuauhtémoc Blanco.

The team’s performance in the past few months could see Brailovsky out after yet another loss by Las Aguilas against an Atlas side that is looking forward to the challenges it faces on the domestic side as well as in Copa Libertadores.  This upcoming week is vital for Brailovsky as the team will endure an arduous task of have to fly over the equator multiple times having to play Universidad Católica in Chile and then having to play Santos Laguna at the Estadio Azteca.

This past weekend’s loss to Atlas at the Estadio Jalisco did not help his cause both administratively or tactically.  The Mexican press refuted the former talking head’s passive strategy that gave Miguel Ángel Brindisi the chance to have some space to play.  This allowed Los Zorros to be able to score early and not be pressured on their end of the pitch.  His bench also failed him as he took out players such as Salvador Cabañas and Federico Higuaín and saw no production from his substitutes.

So at the rate things are going, a repeat perfromance of last season will not be reason to allow Brailovsky to remain at Coapa.  Quite the opposite, he could be heading to Tlalnepantla to join his studio buddies at ESPN.   Those same ESPN analysts that have not been so nice to him as they were when he used to be the most knowledgeable man in football.

Besides sports both at the local level and internationally, I will be covering the Super Tuesday proceedings in Connecticut, which suddenly turned into a swing state here in New England. So check me out here as well as in my blog.
